Daredevil Season 2 on Disney+: Cast, Plot, and Release Updates

Alright folks, if Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again left you gasping for air after that gritty, noir-stained finale, you’re not alone. Matt Murdock finally reclaimed his Daredevil identity, Wilson Fisk slammed New York under martial law, and we were all left wondering — what’s next?

Well, turns out… a lot.

Let’s unpack everything we know (and what we’re desperately hoping for) in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.

🩸 The war for Hell's Kitchen: where the story picks up

Season 1 wrapped with Kingpin taking over the city like some twisted version of a Marvel-drenched Escape from New York. With most of his enemies locked up and the Punisher captured, Fisk pretty much rules the roost.

That leaves Matt to mount a resistance. He’s not alone either. Karen Page is back (Deborah Ann Woll fans, rejoice!), and he’s got allies like reporter BB Urich and PI Cherry (played by Clark Johnson) watching his back. Then there’s his girlfriend Dr. Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva), who made the wild move of joining Fisk’s cabinet — yikes.

It’s not gonna be a clean fight.

🎯 Bullseye or bust? Where's Dexter headed?

Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter (played by Wilson Bethel) is back, but we still don’t know where he stands. Is this the season we finally get full-on Bullseye? The groundwork’s there, and fans have been waiting forever to see this iconic villain go full beast mode.

If he sides with Fisk, Matt’s gonna have one hell of a fight on his hands.

🕷️ Will Spidey swing in?

Look, ever since Matt popped up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been hoping for a Spidey-Daredevil crossover. But don’t get your web shooters in a twist just yet.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane says Hell’s Kitchen is its own gritty corner of the MCU. Translation? Don’t expect Tom Holland to drop by — but never say never when it comes to multiverse shenanigans.

Still, it opens the door to more street-level Marvel heroes. Which brings us to…

💥 The Defenders reunite?

The rumors were true. Krysten Ritter is officially back as Jessica Jones.

Confirmed during Disney’s Upfronts (and yes, she stood on stage with Charlie Cox — cue the geek tears), this is huge. The return of Netflix-era characters is a dream come true for long-time fans. If Jessica’s back, could Luke Cage be next? Rumblings suggest Mike Colter may return too.

Iron Fist? Eh… let’s not tempt fate.

Either way, the resistance against Fisk’s regime needs power players — and Jessica is perfect for this gritty, grounded vibe.

☠️ Punisher: standalone or support?

Frank Castle escaped in the post-credit scene of Season 1, so where does that leave him?

With Fisk’s goons misusing his skull insignia, it feels personal. Even if the Punisher ends up spinning off into his own series, expect him to at least pop back in to tie off that thread. And let’s be honest, watching Bernthal go full Punisher again is something fans are begging for.

🕶️ Froggy returns… sort of?

Remember Foggy Nelson dying in Episode 1 of Season 1? Well… Elden Henson is back. Is it flashbacks? A fakeout death? Multiverse clone?

Comic books have taught us never to trust a grave unless you see the body… and even then, not always.

Regardless, we’re psyched to have him back. Matt needs his conscience — and his best friend.

🧥 New characters & casting scoop

Several new faces are entering Hell’s Kitchen:

  • Matthew Lillard (Scream, Scooby-Doo) in an unknown role. Wild guess? A manipulative villain or corrupt bureaucrat.
  • Lili Taylor as Fisk’s political rival? Oh yeah, she’s gonna bring serious weight to the rebellion arc.
  • Sydney Parra, James Armstrong, Annie Parisse – all in mystery roles, which means Marvel is holding cards close to the chest.

Also spotted: Daredevil rocking a new black suit. Is this a tactical upgrade? A stealth mode? Or maybe symbolic of Matt’s darker descent this season?

🗓️ Release date & what's next

Production is underway and set to wrap by July 2025. Mark your calendars — March 2026 is when Season 2 drops on Disney+.

It’ll be the first Marvel series (aside from Loki and What If) to get a second season, which says a lot about how confident Marvel is in Matt Murdock’s story.

The wait might be long, but if they stick the landing, it’s gonna be worth it.

Hell's Kitchen is heating up

Between Jessica Jones' return, a brewing uprising, and the shadow of Fisk looming large, Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is shaping up to be one of Marvel’s most intense and emotionally charged seasons yet.

If Season 1 cracked open Matt’s rebirth, Season 2 is gonna test just how far he’s willing to go to save the city he loves.
