Step into the Magic: A Look at Disney's Most Epic Theme Park Changes So Far in 2025! 🎢
From multiversal battles and robotic flight labs to the return of classic parades and dazzling new nighttime shows, 2025 has already been absolutely wild for Disney parks. Whether you're a diehard Disney parks veteran or you’re planning your very first trip, there’s a lot to catch up on—and we’ve got the scoop! Let’s count down the Top 10 New Attractions, Updates & Changes you need to know about at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

1. Avengers Campus EXPANDS with Two Wild New Rides (Disney California Adventure)
Brace yourself, true believers! Ground has officially broken on the Avengers Campus expansion and it’s already promising Marvel-level action. First up is Avengers: Infinity Defense, a multiverse adventure pitting us against King Thanos. Think “Transformers” meets “Peter Pan’s Flight” (but way more epic). 3D screens? Physical sets? YES PLEASE.
Right next door, the Stark Flight Lab will feature robotic arms (!!) that twist and spin you midair in gyrokinetic pods. It’s giving Star Tours on Red Bull. We’re hyped.
2. Monstropolis Replaces Muppets (Disney's Hollywood Studios)
Say goodbye to Muppet Vision 3D 😢—and hello to Monsters, Inc. Land! This fresh new mini-land includes:
- A new Monsters theater show
- Harryhausen’s restaurant (cue sushi and scream energy)
- And the jaw-dropping Door Coaster, Disney’s first suspended coaster.
You’ll fly through the iconic door warehouse just like Mike and Sulley did. Trust us, it’s the perfect family-friendly thrill ride Hollywood Studios has been begging for.
3. Cars Rally Off-Road Adventure Replaces Rivers of America (Walt Disney World)
We were skeptical at first too—Rivers of America has been a staple for decades. But the new Cars Rally Race looks like an intense Indiana Jones-style truck trek. Imagine climbing rocky hills, dodging geysers, and racing through Radiator Springs in a bumpy 4-seater. The track won’t be super-fast, but the tech sounds very immersive.
And yes, little racers get their own attraction too!
4. Disneyland Turns 70 and Goes ALL OUT (Disneyland Resort)
The 70th anniversary is in full swing and it’s stacked:
- Tapestry of Happiness: A heartwarming “It’s a Small World” projection show
- Return of Wondrous Journeys and Paint the Night Parade (heck yes!)
- World of Color: Happiness hosted by Joy from Inside Out
- New Coco animatronics in “It’s a Small World”
- And that sweet new verse by Richard Sherman making its debut
Plus, anniversary overlays, rare character sightings, and more nostalgia than you can shake a churro at.
5. Walt Disney Animatronic Coming to Life (Disneyland)
Yes, really—Disney is debuting its first Walt Disney audio-animatronic in Walt Disney: A Magical Life. All of his voice lines are pulled from archival recordings, and the likeness? Incredibly lifelike.
The Opera House will also host two brand-new exhibits:
- One celebrating Disneyland’s evolution
- One tracing the history of animatronics
For Disney history buffs, this is a can't-miss.
6. Disney Starlight Parade Is Coming (Magic Kingdom)
There’s a new nighttime parade in town, and it’s called Disney Starlight. Think Main Street Electrical Parade, but modern and way more dazzling. So far, we’ve got:
- A Coco float with sugar skull fireworks
- Wish’s Asha and Valentino
- Blue Fairy, Peter Pan, Elsa, and more
- Classic royal court dancers returning!
We’re still waiting on the official opening date, but it’s looking like the summer showstopper we’ve been dreaming of.
7. Buzz Lightyear Gets a Major Upgrade (Magic Kingdom)
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin is finally getting that glow-up it deserves! Get ready for:
- A new sidekick animatronic named Buddy
- Freshly designed ride vehicles
- Handheld blasters with better aim
- Interactive targets that light up when hit
The ride closes this August and reopens in 2026, so get your Zurg-blasting in while you can!
8. Two New Shows Land at Hollywood Studios
Coming May 27:
- Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After — a musical courtroom drama where villains argue who’s the most misunderstood (yes, really).
- The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure — a reimagined version of the classic tale with new effects, puppets, and even “Kiss the Girl.”
Honestly, Hollywood Studios’ live entertainment game just got supercharged.
9. DinoLand Makes Way for Tropical Americas (Animal Kingdom)
DinoLand’s days are numbered. Demolition is already underway for Tropical Americas, a new land inspired by Latin American cultures and stories. But don’t worry—Dinosaur, Restaurantosaurus, and the Boneyard will remain open through 2025.
We’re keeping our eyes on this one—it could be Animal Kingdom’s biggest evolution since Pandora.
10. A Bar at Spaceship Earth? Yes Please (EPCOT)
Spaceship Earth is getting a speakeasy-style lounge called GO82, exclusively for guests 21 and over. Imagine sipping cocktails above EPCOT with World Celebration views? Count us in. Also, Test Track is already running test rides—so its late-summer opening looks promising.
Meanwhile, over at the Tree of Life, work is underway on a new Zootopia show replacing “It’s Tough to Be a Bug.”
Disney is on a mission to refresh, reimagine, and reinvent in 2025—and we are absolutely here for it. Whether it’s stepping into the multiverse, flying through a warehouse of doors, or rediscovering the heart of Disney history, there’s something magical on the horizon for every kind of park-goer. Grab your mouse ears, charge your MagicBand, and start planning that next trip.
