10 Binge-Worthy Comics You Can Read in One Weekend

You know that feeling when you stumble onto a new show, check the episode list, and realize it’s all there? You can just plow through seasons back-to-back over one glorious weekend. No waiting, no cliffhanger anxiety. Just pure binge bliss.

That’s exactly the vibe behind this list — but for comics. These are ten series you can dive into today without hunting down overpriced single issues or out-of-print trades. Every one of them is available in a nice, easy-to-grab format (omnibuses, deluxe editions, compendiums, trades). No $800 rarities, no headaches. Just bingeable stories that’ll eat entire weekends.

1. Criminal (Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips)

The crime anthology that turned Brubaker & Phillips into legends. Each arc spotlights a different character — but threads connect them, so when someone pops up later you’re like, oh, I know that guy. Brubaker’s noir writing + Phillips’ evolving, moody art = pure binge fuel. Three deluxe editions are out, cheap and easy to find. And with a TV adaptation on the way, now’s the perfect time to jump in.

2. Superman by Phillip Kennedy Johnson Vol. 1

This recent omnibus is a monster: Warworld Saga, its lead-up (Warworld Rising), and extras like Clark’s journal entries and a full map of Warworld. Johnson excels at lore and cultural world-building, and here he delivers one of Superman’s most inspiring arcs in years. Skip the clunky Superman and the Authority mini tucked inside, and you’ve got one of the strongest modern Supes runs to binge.

3. Uncanny X-Force (Rick Remender)

Deadpool, Psylocke, Archangel, Wolverine, Fantomex… in stealthy black-and-silver suits. It’s as badass as it sounds. Remender writes one of the sharpest Deadpools ever, mixing actual depth with chaotic humor. You don’t need years of X-lore to enjoy it either. Available in two Epic Collections or one big omnibus.

4. Gideon Falls (Jeff Lemire & Andrea Sorrentino)

Creepy, surreal horror done right. Sorrentino’s panel layouts feel like nightmares printed on paper. Lemire’s script keeps you hooked without ever letting you get too comfortable. It’s only ~27 issues, collected in two deluxe hardcovers. Go in blind — trust me — and thank me later.

5. Wonder Woman (New 52) by Brian Azzarello & Cliff Chiang

Divisive? Absolutely. Essential? For bingeing, yes. Azzarello leans hard into Greek mythology, recasting Diana’s world with gods, betrayals, and epic wars. Chiang’s bold art is stunning, and the run is one big interconnected story from start to finish. Not everyone loves the Amazon retcon or clay origin tweak, but if you want a meaty Wonder Woman saga, this is it.

6. Hawkeye (Matt Fraction & David Aja)

The book that redefined Clint Barton. Fraction and Aja turn “the Avenger everyone forgets” into the most relatable, grounded hero in Marvel. Clint owns a crappy apartment building, Kate Bishop rolls her eyes at him, and Pizza Dog steals the show. Stylish, funny, heartfelt. One omnibus collects the whole thing.

7. Invincible (Robert Kirkman & Ryan Ottley)

Yes, the show’s great. The comic? Even better. Across 144 issues (collected in three chunky compendiums), Mark Grayson’s superhero coming-of-age story goes harder, darker, and crazier than animation can. Some arcs dip (cough Dinosaurus), but the emotional payoffs and wild fights make it one of the most bingeable superhero runs ever.

8. Batman by Paul Dini

Dini (co-creator of Batman: The Animated Series) brings that same sharp storytelling to the comics. His Detective Comics run mixes clever one-shots with standout arcs, plus a reinvention of Hush that blows the original out of the water. The omnibus is packed with gems, from Riddler team-ups to “Heart of Hush.”

9. Deadly Class (Rick Remender & Wes Craig)

Teenagers. Assassin school. Drugs, betrayals, heartbreak, and blood everywhere. Craig’s kinetic art is wild — punk energy on every page — and Remender sticks the landing across 56 issues. Four deluxe editions collect the whole run. It starts in the ‘80s and follows the cast into adulthood, wrapping up with a finale that actually satisfies.

10. All-Star Western (New 52)

Jonah Hex deserves more love. This run by Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti blends gritty western with Gotham City’s history. Hex teams up with Amadeus Arkham, throws down with Vandal Savage, even time-travels into the present. 34 issues (plus a zero) collected soon in an omnibus dropping this October. A perfect binge, capped by a Darwin Cooke-drawn finale.

Every series here is binge-friendly, available in collections that won’t break the bank, and delivers either a full story or a damn satisfying chunk. Whether you’re into gritty noir, cosmic Superman epics, horror, or assassin teenagers — there’s something here to keep you up until 3am muttering just one more issue.
